麦当劳高管表示，经过在旧金山和达拉斯进行的McPlant汉堡试验失败后，麦当劳没有计划重新推出植物基选项。麦当劳美国总裁Joe Erlinger在周三于芝加哥举行的华尔街日报全球食品论坛上表示，“在两个市场都不成功。
美国消费者并不指望在麦当劳找到McPlant汉堡或其他植物基蛋白。该连锁店此前曾与Beyond Meat合作推出McPlant汉堡和鸡块。
暂时不提供植物基食品，但Erlinger没有排除沙拉有朝一日会回归的可能性。
这将取决于顾客需求是否存在。
消费者口味不合，麦当劳尝试提供植物基选项失败，提醒企业需及时洞察市场需求，顺势而为。
