Databricks CTO Matei Zaharia表示，Databricks必须追踪调度数百万条信息，这是传统操作系统调度无法完成的任务。
于是，他们发展了一款名为“数据库操作系统（DBOS）”，与斯坦福大学和麻省理工合作建立了团队，并于2023年4月成立了一家公司来商业化这一理念，并获得了850万美元的初创资金。
DBOS可以提供与 Linux 操作系统相同性能，并且基于其内核的分布式数据库支持，可以完成 Linux 内核无法完成的任务。
