周日晚间，一名错行司机在橙县的收费公路上与另一辆车发生猛烈碰撞，导致其当场遇难。事发时间约为晚上9:30，地点位于纽波特海滩的73号南向收费公路，靠近麦克阿瑟大道。
加州公路巡警表示，目击者报告错行司机以高速行驶，随后与一辆宝马车正面相撞。
燃烧的残骸散落在多个车道上。
错行司机当场死亡，而宝马司机则被送往医院，关于其伤情的详细情况尚未披露。
