首款5G物联网设备即将上市。
根据Fierce Wireless的报道，T-Mobile计划在年末推出其首款RedCap设备，而AT&T的设备预计将在2025年推出。
RedCap意为简化能力，是3GPP第17版5G标准的一部分，旨在提高物联网中5G设备的性能。
这一规范承诺提供30 Mbps至80 Mbps的数据传输速率，同时极大地降低了对带宽的需求，允许信号在20 MHz频道中运行，而非全规模5G所需的100 MHz频道。
