Automattic首席执行官及WordPress联合创始人Matt Mullenweg在本周对竞争对手WP Engine发起了猛烈抨击，称其为“WordPress的癌症。
他批评WP Engine自2010年起通过商业化WordPress项目获利，却几乎未为社区做出贡献，同时禁用了WordPress强大平台的一些关键功能。
在最近的WordCamp US 2024大会上，Mullenweg详细说明了Automattic与WP Engine在支持WordPress可持续增长上所作的不同贡献，Automattic每周贡献3900小时，而WP Engine仅贡献40小时。
他警告称，“不加限制的癌症将会扩散”，并指出WP Engine所树立的低标准可能引发更多问题。
