WordPress 托管服务公司 WP Engine 于周一向 Automattic 发出停止侵权通知，原因是 Automattic 首席执行官 Matt Mullenweg 上周将 WP Engine 形容为 "WordPress 的癌症。该通知要求 Automattic 和 Mullenweg 撤回相关言论并停止对公司的攻击。
WP Engine 指控 Mullenweg 在上周的 WordCamp 峰会前曾威胁公司，要求其在 9 月 20 日的演讲前支付一笔巨额款项，否则将对 WP Engine 采取所谓的 "焦土核打击。
当他的财务要求未得到满足时，Mullenweg 开始在公司员工、客户及外界传播有关 WP Engine 的虚假指控。
