华为宣布其新款Mate 70系列智能手机将是首款搭载HarmonyOS Next操作系统的设备，该系统不依赖谷歌的Android服务，也不兼容任何Android应用。这四款Mate 70手机在过去五年美国制裁的背景下，完全不包含任何美国硬件。
此外，Mate 70系列还将提供搭载HarmonyOS 4.3的版本，此系统于2019年推出，是谷歌Android系统的替代品，仍兼容Android广泛的应用库。
尽管用户选择HarmonyOS Next后应用选择会减少，但华为表示已为其生态系统确保了超过15,000个应用，并计划在未来几个月内扩展到100,000个应用。
华为还表示，2025年推出的所有新手机和平板电脑将运行HarmonyOS Next。
