AT&T与AST SpaceMobile签署协议，将卫星互联网带入手机市场，成为SpaceX Starlink的潜在竞争对手。
该商业协议将持续至2030年，旨在向普通手机提供基于空间的宽带网络，使客户在传统基站稀少的偏远地区也能收到信号，只需确保手机对天空视野通畅。
AST迄今只发射了一颗原型卫星，计划在今年后期推出首批“BlueBird”生产卫星，但需要在美国发射45至60颗才能提供持续覆盖。
尽管如此，该公司表示仍能在全国5,600个基站提供“非连续覆盖。
