IT服务和咨询公司Cognizant被陪审团判定对非印度员工实施了歧视行为，必须支付惩罚性赔偿以弥补受到伤害的员工。
此次裁决是在Cognizant未能说服洛杉矶联邦法官驳回2017年的就业偏见集体诉讼之后作出的。
Cognizant发言人对此判决表示失望，并计划上诉，强调其提供平等的就业机会，并致力于营造一个多样性和包容性的工作环境。
Bloomberg News在七月报道称，Cognizant利用H1-B签证抽签系统的漏洞进行外包，并辩称其做法完全符合美国法律，近年增加了在美国的招聘，减少了对H1-B项目的依赖。
