本周末，多伦多的Gardiner高速公路将从周五晚上11点关闭，至周日上午10点，预计将关闭35小时。市政府表示，此次关闭旨在预防未来的多次部分关闭，维护交通畅通。
交通服务的维护主管Vincent Sferrazza表示，此次行动相当于30次不同的部分关闭，所需工作包括填补坑洞、更换护栏以及清理涂鸦。市政府建议司机采用公共交通以减轻交通拥堵。
同时，他们将部署交通人员管理拥堵情况。
面对拥堵，Cycle Toronto的公共政策主管Alison Stewart表示，减少路上的车辆数量是缓解交通问题的关键，并致力于推动自行车网络和公共交通的发展。
