劳伦斯·利弗莫尔国家实验室的‘El Capitan’超级计算机现已被评为全球最强，最新的Top500榜单显示其高性能Linpack（HPL）得分超过1.742艾级浮点运算。‘El Capitan’是全球第三台‘超阶’计算机，每秒能够进行超过一千万亿次计算。
排名第二和第三的计算机分别是Frontier和Aurora，均位于政府研究机构内。‘El Capitan’在劳伦斯·利弗莫尔国家实验室运作，搭载超过1100万个基于AMD第四代EPYC处理器的CPU和GPU核心。
这些24核处理器每个的额定频率为1.8GHz，并配有AMD Instinct M1300A APU。同时，其功耗效率相对较高，每瓦计算性能达到约58.89亿次浮点运算。
