拉合尔是巴基斯坦旁遮普省的首府，靠近印度边界，其空气质量糟糕程度位列全球之首，由于城市人口超过1300万，污染也因此变得极其严重。
在12月初，这座城市的空气质量变得如此糟糕，以至于学校、市场和公园关闭了四天。
到了上个周末，该城市的空气质量指数已经达到了被视为对健康极具危险的程度。
