据美联社报道，位于北卡罗来纳州西部的一个社区，遭受飓风海伦破坏的两家高纯度石英制造公司之一Sibelco于周四宣布其生产已恢复，位于斯普鲁斯派恩的矿山和加工设施重新开始运营，且正在逐步提高生产和发货能力。Sibelco首席执行官Hilmar Rode表示，重启运营对重建当地经济至关重要。
斯普鲁斯派恩的一位市议会成员表示，估计该镇四分之三的居民与矿山有直接联系。Sibelco在公告中表示，运营设施受损轻微，并重申公司的所有员工都安全无恙。
同时，Sibelco还积极参与当地恢复工作，包括清理废物、修复道路和增强社区支持。
该公司为这一支持设立了Sibelco Spruce Pine Foundation，并承诺向其捐赠100万美元以推动社区恢复。
在面对自然灾害时，社区的团结和相互支持显得尤为重要。
