加拿大加拿大房屋抵押贷款及住房公司表示，1月份住房开工年度增速比12月份下降了10%。该国住房机构表示，1月份的季节调整后的住房开工年度速度为223,589套单位，而2023年12月份为248,968套。
这一下降是因城市住房开工年增速下降11%，为208,119套单位，多套单元城市住房开工年增速下降14%，为164,789套单位，单独的城市住房开工年增速上升0.08%，为43,330套单位。多伦多的住房开工年增速提高了179%，得益于多套单元的启动增加，然而，蒙特利尔下降了28%，温哥华下降了55%，原因是多套单元的启动下降。
农村开工年增速估计为15,470套单位。
1月份的住房开工年度季节调整后的月均速度的六个月移动平均值为244,827套单位，比2023年12月的249,757套单位下降了2%。
